Captain Uwe Clasen established Clasen Overseas Surveyor in 1989 in Emden, Germany.

In 2001 Captain Alois Schäfer joined the company and the business partnership Clasen Overseas Surveyor & Partner ( COS) was formed focusing on cargo and general vessel surveying.

Mr. Clasen resigned as shareholder on 01. August 2003 and went into a well-earned retirement.

In 2005 Captain Joachim Schlieps joined the company as a Partner.

From its conception the mission of COS has been to satisfy the requirements of its clients by providing a fast, reliable and economical service around the clock and around the world and that business relations built on trust and performance are the foundations of future growth.

The fact that COS over a period of 3 years has grown from a Partnership of two into a company employing 12 staff of which 9 are surveyors ( 2 part-time) is evidence that not only this conviction is correct, but also that COS has lived up to it.
